Who am I? 

Hi, my name is Kali Thompson and I am a scholar, educator, and former Teacher Ambassador for a prominent EdTech company. I am so happy you've found your way to this website. 

I created this website to support educators who also participate in or are considering participating in Teacher Ambassador Programs for educational technology companies. 

Educators enter into these programs for a variety of reasons both personal and professional. I myself was an ambassador for a company called Nearpod for 4 years. The PioNear space made me feel like a leader and a good teacher, and it also added more labor to my already overworked table.  

I realize that sometimes we may not feel like we have a choice to join these programs or we may feel like these programs benefit us in the end so they are worth the extra time and labor. This website is not about making you or anyone else feel bad for wanting to become an ambassador.  

It's my hope this website simulates what my PhD did for me: the chance to pause, reflect, and think deeply about these companies, these programs, and the influence they have on us, our students and our schools.  

My goal is to help amplify teacher voices and provide educators with resources that support them in the battle to craft an educational world that is focused on passionate, loving, and creative teaching and learning.
